Welcome to week 30!

This week your children learning about The Beatitudes.

Jesus went up on a mountainside and taught a great lesson to a crowd of people. The Sermon on the Mountain taught what kinds of attitudes God blesses.

In this Bible lesson, the children will learn the true happiness of following Jesus and to seek the righteousness of God. I hope you are blessed by this lesson.

Children's bible lesson about the beatitudes - Key Concepts

The key concepts that we focused on this week are:

True happiness is found in Jesus.
Good behavior is important to God.
We should have an attitude like Jesus.

You can also come up with your own key concepts.

Bible Verse for kids
The Bible verse for this lesson is Matthew 5:12

“Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven”.
This Bible verse should be simple enough for your toddler to memorize after a week of practice.

Bible Story Tips

We read “The Beatitudes” beginning on page 59 of the children's Bible Storybook called Bible-Time Stories and Rhymes.
During story, draw attention to the key concepts for this lesson.
Don't forget to ask questions related to the story, for example, “Whose attitude should be followed?”
Throughout the Bible lesson we reiterated that true happiness is found in Jesus.
After the Bible story and discussion session, we stand up and do the interactive rhyme found in the Bible storybook.

Prayer
After the story and rhyme, we say a prayer that is related to the Bible story. You can either have your children repeat after you or allow them to come up with their own prayer.

The Bible song for this week is "The Beatitudes".
We cast the song from YouTube to the television, so our children can see the motions on the big screen.

Do You Believe bible activity

Good behavior is important to God and he blesses us when we are good.

We used the "Do You Believe Bible Activity" to remind the girls that good behavior is important to God.

"bee happy" Bible craft

Jesus wants us to be happy and shows us how we can be.

We made a Bible craft as a reminder to aim to be happy every day. This children's craft can be made by cutting a flower shape out of cardstock or construction paper.

Then draw or cut out a bee and then glue it to the flower.

Finally, write, “Bee Happy” on the bee.

(We used the “Be Happy Bible Craft" found in the Bible Time Family Fun Pack).

The Beatitudes teach us what it means to be blessed and show us the attitudes that followers of Jesus should have. If we connect with Jesus, we will display his attitude in our lives.

We used the "Connect With Jesus Bible Craft Activity" to show how we will be blessed if we connect with Jesus.

Jesus taught the importance of a good attitude and He was our perfect example.

For this preschool Bible activity, we talked about what good and bad attitudes look like. We gave a variety of examples to show the difference between the attitudes.

After the activity, I read a poem called "The Right Way To Be" (Click this link to read the poem).

We reminded the girls to have an attitude like Jesus.

Be On your best bee-havior bible game

In this Bible story, Jesus taught the crowds of people how we can all be blessed and the blessings start with the right attitude and behavior.

We played a fun Bible game that taught the girls some of the behaviors that Jesus taught us to have.

We reminded the girls that good behavior is important to God.

We wrapped up the week with a tasty treat!

We had lots of fun decorating cupcakes, while I explained that Jesus doesn’t just want us to be happy - he also gives us the recipe for success.

While we enjoyed the treat that we made with the "Recipe For Happy Bible Recipe", we talked about how we can be happy if we display the right attitudes in our lives.
