Week 26 - Jesus Is Born -
Bible Time FUN Through the Bible
Kids Bible Lesson 26 - Jesus Is Born

Welcome to week 26!

This week your children learn the Bible story about how Jesus was born.

Mary and Joseph returned to the town of Bethlehem to register for the Roman census. While they were there, Mary gave birth to baby Jesus. She wrapped the baby in cloths and placed him in a manger because there were no guest rooms in town. The promised king and Messiah had finally arrived!

In this Bible lesson, the children learn that Jesus was born to be the Savior of the world. Jesus was a special baby, a gift from God.

If you haven’t read the introduction to Bible Time yet, I recommend you read the outline about the Bible lessons for children first.

This Bible verse should be simple enough for your toddler to memorize after a week of practice.

Bible Story Tips

  • We read “Jesus Is Born” beginning on page 51 of the children's Bible Storybook called Bible-Time Stories and Rhymes.

  • During story, draw attention to the key concepts for this lesson.

  • Don't forget to ask questions related to the story, for example, “Where did Mary and Joseph have to travel to?”

  • Throughout the Bible lesson we reiterated that Jesus is a special gift from God.

  • After the Bible story and discussion session, we stand up and do the interactive rhyme found in the Bible storybook

Prayer
After the story and rhyme, we say a prayer that is related to the Bible story. You can either have your children repeat after you or allow them to come up with their own prayer.

A Gift from Above bible craft

Jesus was a gift to us from God - his own son. Jesus was sent to save the world from sin.

We used the "A Gift From Above Bible Craft"  as reminder that Jesus was a special gift from God.

Asleep in a Manger Bible ACTIVITY

Baby Jesus was not an ordinary baby. He was sent by God to save us from our sins.

This baby Jesus Bible craft can be made by cutting brown construction paper into a manger shape. Then, cut out  strands of straw using yellow construction paper and glue them to the manger.

Next, cut out a baby shape using white construction paper, then glue the baby shape to the straw.

Lastly, have the children draw and color baby Jesus.

(We used the “Asleep in a Manger Bible Craft" found in

the Bible Time Family Fun Pack).

Finding baby jesus bible maze

The birth of Jesus was special. So special that God put a new star in the sky to let people know that Jesus was born and where to find him.

My daughters did an awesome job completing the  "Finding Baby Jesus Bible Maze!"

The Greatest Gift of All bible craft Activity

We did a fun activity, where Alyssa and Kayla had an opportunity to make a special gift for God. They decided to make pictures using construction paper - which looked amazing!

It warmed my heart to see how excited they were to make this gift.

I made sure to explain that just like we love getting gifts from others, we should also love giving gifts.

I also explained that God gave us a special gift in Jesus.

Born to Be the Savior ACTIVITY CARDS

Jesus was born to be the Savior of the world.

What does this mean for us?

It means we can have hope, strength, forgiveness and peace through Jesus. For this activity we talked about what it means to have hope, strength, forgiveness and peace through Jesus in a fun way!

(We used the rhyming activity “Born To Be The Savior Bible Activity Cards" found in the Bible Time Family Fun Pack).

Picture Perfect bible puzzle

God promised Israel that he would send a King that would be their Savior. Their perfect King was finally here. Everything was coming together just as God had promised.

During the "Picture Perfect Bible Puzzle",  the girls had fun putting pieces of the Jesus is Born Bible story together.
