Week 26 - Jesus Is Born -
Bible Time FUN Through the Bible
Kids Bible Lesson 26 - Jesus Is Born
Childrens-Bible-Lesson-about-baby-Jesus.

Welcome to week 26!

This week your children learn the Bible story about how Jesus was born.

Mary and Joseph returned to the town of Bethlehem to register for the Roman census. While they were there, Mary gave birth to baby Jesus. She wrapped the baby in cloths and placed him in a manger because there were no guest rooms in town. The promised king and Messiah had finally arrived!

In this Bible lesson, the children learn that Jesus was born to be the Savior of the world. Jesus was a special baby, a gift from God.

If you haven’t read the introduction to Bible Time yet, I recommend you read the outline about the Bible lessons for children first.

Bible Story Tips

  • We read “Jesus Is Born” beginning on page 51 of the children's Bible Storybook called Bible-Time Stories and Rhymes.

  • During story, draw attention to the key concepts for this lesson.

  • Don't forget to ask questions related to the story, for example, “Where did Mary and Joseph have to travel to?”

  • Throughout the Bible lesson we reiterated that Jesus is a special gift from God.

  • After the Bible story and discussion session, we stand up and do the interactive rhyme found in the Bible storybook

Prayer
After the story and rhyme, we say a prayer that is related to the Bible story. You can either have your children repeat after you or allow them to come up with their own prayer.

Asleep in a Manger Bible ACTIVITY

Baby Jesus was not an ordinary baby. He was sent by God to save us from our sins.

This baby Jesus Bible craft can be made by cutting brown construction paper into a manger shape. Then, cut out  strands of straw using yellow construction paper and glue them to the manger.

Next, cut out a baby shape using white construction paper, then glue the baby shape to the straw.

Lastly, have the children draw and color baby Jesus.

The Greatest Gift of All bible craft Activity

We did a fun activity, where Alyssa and Kayla had an opportunity to make a special gift for God. They decided to make pictures using construction paper - which looked amazing!

It warmed my heart to see how excited they were to make this gift.

I made sure to explain that just like we love getting gifts from others, we should also love giving gifts.

I also explained that God gave us a special gift in Jesus.
