Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Key Thought

The Lord promises to give us the desires of our hearts. This is not a way to get our wish list granted, because so often our hearts are filled with selfish desires. Instead, this promise is an invitation to seek a loving relationship with God above all other things. In developing this intimate relationship with God we will find that our priorities, our wants and our desires will be in line with what the Lord desires for us. Then we will see that what we have in God is our hearts greatest desire.

Prayer

Gracious Father, forgive me for my selfish desires and help me to recognize that you are what I need most in my life. I know that in you my life will be full. Amen.
