Daily Bible Verse About Good Friday - Bible Time - Bible Verses

1 Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin sand live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Key Thought

Good Friday is the most difficult day of Holy Week.

Christ's journey turned treacherous and very painful in the final hours leading to his death. Jesus endured the shame of false accusations, condemnation, mockery, beatings, and abandonment. After multiple unlawful trials, he was sentenced to death by crucifixion. In his innocence Jesus was treated like a criminal. Those who accused him were his very own people. And even while Jesus hung on the cross he prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Jesus remained faithful to his promise, even to death.

Let us not be like Judas who betrayed Jesus for financial gain, or like Peter who denied him when things got tough. Instead, let us be like Christ, faithful to the very end. Take time today to remember what Jesus had to endure so that those who believe in him will not perish, but have eternal life.

Key Thought

Merciful Heavenly Father, thank you for your perfect sacrifice. Let me never forget all you did so that I can one day live with you for eternity. Help me to be faithful to you to the very end. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
