Sometimes we come into the family of God thinking that our heavenly Father will immediately fix our problems and devote Himself to our happiness and comfort. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. God’s goals for us include spiritual growth, the development of Christ-like character, and developing our faith. And trials play a vital role in achieving these goals.

The important issue in our trials of life is how we respond. If all you we want is relief, we can respond with anger and doubt. But if our desire is to become the person God wants us to be, we will see each trial as an opportunity for Christ to display his character and strength within us.

If I am to become like my Savior, then I have to let go of my requirements on God's answers and open up to God's work to redeem others through me, no matter the personal cost. Only then can I truly know that his grace is sufficient for me!

Prayer

Patient and loving Father thank you for your grace. Help me to find your strength in my weakest moments. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
